AFP West Michigan is pleased to offer a range of scholarships that provide opportunities for both members and non-members to pursue educational and professional development programs. Local scholarship applications are accepted on a quarterly basis.

Membership Scholarships
Professional Membership Scholarship
Scholarship Award $330.00
Young Professional Scholarship
Scholarship Award $95.00
Collegiate Member Scholarship
Chapter will award a college student with one year of AFPWM Membership. Recipient must be enrolled at a higher education institution and can receive this scholarship once during their membership. Recipient does not have to be a current member of AFPWM.

Professional Development Scholarships
AFPWM Professional Development Scholarship
The AFPWM Scholarship Fund will consider funding 50% (not to exceed $1,400) of the cost of tuition (including room, board and travel) of a regional fund raising program, such as those offered by Grand Valley State University, Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy, the Fund Raising School at the Indiana University Center for Philanthropy, or other approved program.

Emerging Member Scholarship
Chapter will award recipient with full tuition to attend a single program such as a National Philanthropy Day luncheon or a Friday Breakfast workshops hosted by AFPWM. Recipient is not a member of AFP and has not been a member for over three years. Each recipient can receive this scholarship once each calendar year.
AFP International Programs
AFP Chamberlain Scholarship -ICON 2026
Each year, AFPWM sends a chapter-nominated Chamberlain Scholar to the AFP International Conference. The nominee must be a fundraiser who has never attended an AFP or NSFRE conference. The scholar pays $10 toward the event and the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy provides the scholarship directly to the conference registration account. The AFPWM Scholarship Fund may also fund 70% (not to exceed $1,000) of the cost of tuition (including room, board and travel) of an approved fundraising program, such as the AFP International Conference.
