About the Position
Summary
The Major Gifts Officer is responsible for cultivating, stewarding, and soliciting a 140+ portfolio of major level ($5k+) donors to advance Guiding Light’s mission. The Major Gifts Officer will build deep, values-driven relationships, identify new prospective donors, and execute strategic engagement plans to achieve annual fundraising goals.
Working Conditions
Full-time; In person; Regional travel.

Job Duties
A successful Major Gifts Officer will meet or exceed the following metrics within the first year:
– Continuously builds and stewards a portfolio of 140+ major or high mid-level donors giving $5,000+.
– Solicits major gifts in support of Guiding Light’s mission and strategic goals, including:
– A minimum of 10 donor touchpoints per week
– 40 handwritten notes per month
– 1 meaningful donor interaction per month
– 3 touchpoints annually for every donor.
– Builds lasting relationships.
– 8+ in-person meetings per month with current donors (4 onsite, 4 offsite)
– 8+ in-person meetings per month with prospective donors (4 onsite, 4 offsite)
– Identifies potential donors by completing a minimum of 3 acquisition interactions or new-lead conversations per week.
Requirements
– Passion and alignment with Guiding Light’s mission and values.
– Proven success with fundraising and stewarding major gifts for a nonprofit organization.
