About the Position
Summary
Scope of Position:
The Director of the Beacon Hill Foundation is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing comprehensive philanthropy programs and working collaboratively with internal and external partners focused on the goal of significantly increasing constituent involvement and fundraising outcomes through stewardship and solicitation.
This includes responsibility for comprehensive planning and execution of major and planned gift programs as well as assistance with grantmaking and annual giving. The Director reports to Kristin Gootjes, President and CEO of Kristin Gootjes Fundraising, governed by the President and CEO of Beacon Hill at Eastgate.

Job Duties
Primary Responsibilities:
● Lead, direct, and manage all aspects of the annual, major, and planned giving philanthropic efforts, secure gifts and pledges in support of the Foundation and organizational goals.
● Serve as the on-site representative of the foundation most weekdays.
● Develop and implement strategic stewardship with existing and potential donors in support of Beacon Hill Foundation priorities and initiatives.
● Cultivate a strong working relationship with volunteers, board members, and Beacon Hill at Eastgate staff, while ensuring transparency, accountability, and open communication in the presentation and measurement of financial and fundraising goals and outcomes.
● Represent the foundation amongst key constituents including residents, donors, volunteers, staff, administrators, and community leaders.
● Be an inspiring advocate and active participant in the community and with key community organizations.
● Ensure dynamic processes in all phases of donor identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
● In partnership with marketing, communications, record keeping, and event planning staff members, devise and implement effective internal and external messaging and methods of advancement communication and solicitation.
Requirements
Qualifications
● Passion and commitment to serving older adults.
● Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with others, both internally and externally.
Five years or more of experience in fundraising position.
● Strong communication skills including speaking, listening, and writing in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques.
● Ability to make decisions; solve problems; assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks; and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
● Relentlessly positive attitude toward work.
