About the Organization
Mosaic Counseling is a nonprofit mental health organization dedicated to expanding access to high-quality, compassionate care across West Michigan (Ottawa & Kent Counties). We believe that mental health support should never be a luxury, and our work is rooted in removing financial, systemic, and social barriers that prevent individuals and families from getting the help they need.
Our unique service model is built around a collaborative panel of nearly 300 licensed, independent therapists who partner with Mosaic to provide care to clients in our community. Rather than operating as a traditional group practice, Mosaic functions as a connector and access point, thoughtfully matching clients with therapists whose specialties, availability, and approach best meet their needs.
A cornerstone of our approach is our personalized intake and matching process, which is designed to truly understand each client’s needs, preferences, and goals. This intentional matching leads to stronger therapeutic relationships, higher engagement, and more positive outcomes for the individuals and families we serve.
Mosaic Counseling is deeply committed to ensuring access regardless of financial or insurance circumstances. Through a robust sliding scale model, donor-supported funding, and community partnerships, we are able to turn no one away due to inability to pay or insurance status. This commitment allows us to meet people where they are and provide care when it is needed most.
We also prioritize early intervention and prevention, particularly through our school outreach initiatives, where we partner with local schools to remove barriers for children and adolescents. By increasing access to mental health support during critical developmental years, we help build a stronger foundation for long-term well-being.
In addition, Mosaic partners with local organizations and employers to provide Employee Assistance Program (EAP)-style services, supporting workforce mental health through accessible counseling and resources. These partnerships help organizations care for their teams while reducing stigma and expanding access to care.
Beyond direct service coordination, Mosaic is deeply engaged in community education and prevention efforts, including offering free QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention trainings and other mental health awareness initiatives. These programs empower individuals, organizations, and community members with the tools to recognize signs of distress and respond effectively.
As a growing organization, Mosaic Counseling continues to evolve in response to the needs of the communities we serve. Our work is grounded in collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to building a stronger, healthier community where every individual – regardless of age, background, or circumstance – has access to the care and support they deserve.
