CELEBRATING THE PHILANTHROPIC CONTRIBUTIONS OF AFRICAN AMERICANS IN OUR COMMUNITY
The Association of Fundraising Professionals West Michigan will be hosting a virtual panel discussion in celebration of Black Philanthropy Month on August 31 at 12pm. Representatives from several West Michigan organizations will share how their work has impacted the West Michigan community through philanthropy.
A 2012 study from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation reported that African Americans donate a higher percentage of their incomes to charity than any other ethnic group in this country. In recognition of August as Black Philanthropy Month, we are hosting this community panel to celebrate and amplify the philanthropic contributions of African Americans in our community.
Panelist include: Grand Rapids Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., Eta Nu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Greater Grand Rapids Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and Women of Color Give, more to come!
This event is Free, but registration is required by August 27th.
