Financial Statement Basics
I know… it sounds dry, but trust me, it will be fun!

When Does a Person Decide to Become an Accountant?
When she realizes she doesn’t have the charisma to succeed as an undertaker.

Nonprofit professionals will develop familiarity with three financial statements: Statement of Financial Position or Balance Sheet, Statement of Activities or Statement of Net Revenues, and Statement of Cash Flows. Strong financial management supports and enables mission accomplishment! Learn how outside organizations use financial statements and for what purposes.

Discussion facilitated by Mary Lehman-Panek
Mary is a Board Member of AFP-West Michigan and served as the Chapter Treasurer from 2014 – 2020. She is an alumna of Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI where she received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting (1982) and is a Certified Public Accountant (State of Illinois 1984). Her current professional affiliation is the Leadership Cabinet for the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan’s Our Shepherds Our Future Campaign.

The event is free, but pre-registration is required by Wednesday before the Friday event. You will receive the link to the meeting the day before, on Thursday, from Louise “Punky” Edison.
