Cryptocurrency…..what is it, really? Is it as big as it seems? How do I get started learning about it for my nonprofit? And do I really have to pay attention? The answer to the last question is YES, and come to the November 4, AFPWM Breakfast to learn the answers to the rest of the questions.
About the presenters:
Harle is the Ottawa + Allegan development specialist for Kids’ Food Basket where she also leads all crypto philanthropy related projects alongside her incredible team. She earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work from GVSU while running a small cleaning business. Her background includes, managing a veteran-based housing program, campaign management and non-profit fundraising. She spends her free time hiking, spoiling her Mini-Aussie, and brewing her own kombucha. Harle is a primarily self-taught crypto-fundraiser that has worked on philanthropic NFT projects and assisted with the kickoff of Kids’ Food Basket’s Crypto-Philanthropy program. She is passionate about crypto-philanthropy and the philosophical intentions of cryptocurrency.
Mary Robinson has had a 40 + year background in international and domestic community-based development. She oversaw the creation of WMEAC’s fund development department starting in 2013.
After growing up in West Michigan, Robinson spent 10 years working in international development for the Peace Corps, OEF International and Save the Children Federation. After returning to Grand Rapids, she pursued a career in nonprofit management, leading South East Economic Development (SEED) and working in fund development with Camp Henry and at Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore. Robinson also had a parallel career as an instructor at Davenport University and GVSU. She has a BA from Colgate University and a Master’s degree from the School for International Training.
Louise “Punky” Edison
Punky is a nonprofit consultant with 20 years in fundraising. She is a former AFPWM Board Member. She is very interested in Cryptocurrency and is delighted to moderate this conversation.
