Request for Proposal (RFP)

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) West Michigan Chapter is seeking proposals from qualified speakers to present at our National Philanthropy Day Mini-Conference. This conference is an event that celebrates the contributions of philanthropy to our community and provides valuable insights and knowledge to fundraising professionals and nonprofit organizations.

We are seeking dynamic and engaging speakers who can deliver 45-minute presentations on topics relevant to fundraising, philanthropy, nonprofit management, and related areas. The presentations should be informative, inspiring, and provide actionable strategies and insights that attendees can implement in their organizations.

Proposal Deadline

Please submit your proposal via email to Gina Schultz at gina.schulz@faithhospicecare.org  no later than Thursday, June 20.

Event Details

Event Name: AFP National Philanthropy Day Mini-Conference, part of the Annual Celebration

Date: Wednesday, November 13, 2024

Time: 9 – 11:15 am (Mini-Conference); 11:30-1:30 am (Annual Celebration); after 2 pm (enjoy the gardens!)

Location: Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, Grand Rapids

Audience: Fundraising professionals, nonprofit leaders, philanthropists, and community members

 

Proposal Submission Guidelines

Interested speakers are invited to submit proposals that include the following:

  • Speaker Biography: Provide a brief biography highlighting your expertise, experience, and credentials in fundraising, philanthropy, or related fields.
  • Presentation Topic and Abstract: Clearly outline the proposed presentation topic and provide a concise abstract describing the content, objectives, and key takeaways.
  • Presentation Format: Specify the preferred format (e.g. workshop, panel discussion).
  • Optional Sample Materials: Include samples of previous presentations, articles, or publications related to fundraising or philanthropy.

 

Selection Process

Proposals will be evaluated based on the relevance of the topic, speaker qualifications, presentation format, and alignment with the goals of the National Philanthropy Day Conference. Selected speakers will be notified by Wednesday, July 10.

 

Benefits of Presenting

Presenters (single, team, or panel) will be eligible for free registration to the National Philanthropy Day Annual Celebration. An honorarium of $250 will also be offered per session selected.
