About the Position

Summary

Looking to make a difference in the world while working in a team-oriented environment? Then look no further! Guiding Light is searching for a front-line fundraising professional responsible for managing a portfolio of major donors ($5,000+), mid-level donors ($500 – $4,999), while also prospecting new donors.
The salary range is $50,000 – $60,000.

Job Duties

The Donor Relations Officer (DRO) develops an authentic relationship with each donor in the assigned major and mid-level portfolio, discovering interests and organizational priorities that help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions in partnership with Guiding Light.  The DRO plans and manages relationship journeys that include qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors.
and creates moves management plans for major gift prospects.
Works collaboratively with the Director of Development and the Development Specialist to compose letters, compile appropriate invitation lists, secure sponsors, participate in events and engage featured program participants.
At the direction of the Development Director, develops corporate sponsorship packages that initiates project/event revenue for Guiding Light.
Knowledgeable of all the types of giving opportunities with Guiding Light such as estate planning, gifts of stock, crypto currency and donating assets.
Learns about Guiding Light’s programs and projects and effectively communicates the mission to donors.
Continuously looks for opportunities to educate themselves in all aspects of philanthropic innovations and ideas.
Creates monthly reports that accurately reflect caseload activity and performance.
Performs other major donor activities as may be required.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

The DRO must model integrity, be passionate and work to inspire colleagues and donors while striving to build a great team. The following additional skills and abilities are required:
Detail-oriented and well organized
Highly professional demeanor, able to work successfully with a wide variety of constituents including donors, board members, vendors, volunteers, and professional consultants
Exceptional written, oral and interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, staff, donors and volunteers
Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple priorities, and work in a deadline-driven environment
Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
Confidentiality and personal integrity are essential
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and database management platforms. Experience with the Virtuous CRM is a plus.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors Degree required; preferably in marketing or non-profit management
Experience in non-profit fundraising and donor stewardship
Driver’s license required
Strategic project planning and decision-making skills
Commitment to and a passion for the mission of Guiding Light
